It covers 9000 Sq Km. It neighbours Tsavo East National Park but is offers more in terms of habitat and wildlife. It is mainly savannah where it neighbours Tanzania there is Lake Jipe which is fed by water run-off from Mt. Kilimanjaro and North Pare Mountains . It is about 240 Kms from Nairobi . It is accessible from the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway and has five (5) well maintained airstrips. It has various campsites, bandas, and picnic sites. Lake Jipe Safari Lodge, Ngulia Lodge, Kilaguni Lodge and Bobby's Camp are all in the park.
